This design represents one face of a two-sided coin—the duality of existence that unites polar opposites. The 走向生命 binary appears throughout mystical and religious iconography. In this design, Lin combines the head of a statue—a Grecian goddess—with the cosmos and a lone figure on a prism bridge, about to pass into eternity. The celestial starscape encapsulated within the angel statue acts as a metaphor for the infinite—like in Adolus Huxley’s book “The Doors of Perception,” in which the psychedelic experience is revealed as a conduit to higher consciousness.
Scab shop is a curated gallery celebrating the artists who have evolved tattoo art and culture into what it is today and are defining what it will be tomorrow. As our digital selves serve to represent a larger part of our identity, scab shop serves these artists by extending the reach of their artworks across the physical/digital membrane so that we as collectors can curate our identity in all contexts in a way that helps us feel more like ourselves both online and offline.
