A Body:
She was 15 and made the decision: had to breakup with the boyfriend. Prepared the speech, the reasons, the whys. There was only one thing she didn't prepare for: her pregnancy. Neither did her mom, who upon hearing the news, told her: "I thought you'd have a brilliant future.".
The words still echo inside her mind.
Her daughter was born in August 2001, and on the 11th day of September that year, the boyfriend and her had to find room for The Talk amidst the panic caused by the World Trade Center attack.
Time went by, she enrolled at the University, studying Tourism, when through a classmate she met her future husband and simultaneously turned said classmate, now her sister in law, into a nemesis, dedicated to prevent their marriage at all costs. Such was the sister's hatred, that in a last resort to ruin their wedding, she tried to take her own life. But survived.
Because of her husband's job, the couple lived in several Brazilian states before settling in Rio, which helped to reduce the family stress. Today things are more peaceful but not forgotten and keeping a distance brings benefits for her mental health. Now, at 38, she rather focus on work and family instead of being a target for unjustified hate.
A Dream:
To travel as much as possible
A Regret:
Not having a good relationship with her mom
