Michael McLeer, AKA Mr. Kaves is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has continually been inspired by the crumbling, many-faced Brooklyn landscapes of the 1970s and 1980s in which he was born and raised. He is a painter, renowned graffiti artist, NFT artist, founding member of pioneering rap/punk-rock group Lordz of Brooklyn, tattooer, filmmaker and all-around creative for nearly three decades. Originating from Brooklyn, New York, Kaves' realized his talent for art at a young age and mastered his craft throughout the years. Regarded as the “Brooklyn boy who makes good,” he is widely celebrated for taking paintings from train cars to museums and galleries. His work has been featured in the Gunter Sachs Museum of Fine Arts in Germany, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, among others, as well as Henry Chalfant's acclaimed 1984 book Spraycan Art and countless other graffiti books. Over time, Kaves' became the go-to street artist and trend forecaster for many renowned brands. He has designed exclusive visuals for Audemars Piguet, Aston Martin, Jaguar, NIKE, Rockstar Games, WWE, MTV, adidas, Van's Warped Tour, Georges Duboeuf, and many others. Kaves has also created logos and graphics for world-renowned musical artists such as the Beastie Boys and Metallica. In 2021, Kaves created an NFT project titled The Family Mooks which had a highly successful release.
