Why do we do self-destructive things

• Why are we not our best-selves all the time
• Why are we drawn to the dark
• Perhaps simply a counter our daily grind
• We seek aberration

I often ask myself, how did I get here

• Doing Everydays, time in web3, living life way I do
• Why do I buy that NFT even though likely price fades to zero
• Same reason billionaires seek thrills
• & Musk & Zuck want to cage fight
• Aberration, new threads to explore

Why we do the things we do

• We're 42 years after Talking Heads made us think
• Screen time exploding, social media, constant comparing
• Life can be stressful, though it's more internal
• Everything is a click away and yet we're bored

Light & Dark

• We know things with risk = more fun
• Smoking, drinking, base jumping, buying pre-reveal on an NFT project or $AMC call options
• & for mega rich: climbing Mt. Everest, exploring oceans, shooting to space
• Risk has dark side
• Price to pay for light

Nothing is special

• We see everything amazing on social media
• Private jets, supercars, happy families or beautiful people living influencer life in big city
• Wherever the grass is greener, we see it 24/7
• AI powered algorithms feed us our desires

And if anything, trend is accelerating

• I suspect, we will continue to seek temptations
• Of more extreme natures
• We say 2023 is an alt timeline, we're living in a simulation
• Perhaps
• Or perhaps we're living in a world
• Where anyone that can, YOLOs to feel something
