I have been silent in Greece and USA for more than 2000 years and continue to do so.
Only a statue can silently observe what is happening around it for centuries. Willessly, without resistance, the lifeless object submits to a change of point of view.
Displayed in a busy place, or locked in the basement reserves of museums, they do not complain. They continue to stand still, completely resigned to the fact that people decide their fate.
And it's not about the people who created them or capable to appreciate their beauty. It's upon the conscience of those people who are completely indifferent to any fate other than their own.
And if they are silent, we must speak for ourselves and for them.
Marble has the right to remain silent. Man does not.
