Award-winning Chinese multi-disciplinary artist Li Binyuan graduated as a sculptor in 2011 from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, where he resides, transitioning into Performance Art and Photography as a part of the performance. Binyuan cites performance as the tool that allows him to escape from everyday, habituated norms. Winner of the 2021 Sovereign Asia Art Prize, TMAC’s charitable recipient of A New Beginning, the launch drop, Binyuan belongs to the so-called ‘new generation’ of Chinese artists, whose work draws upon the codes and techniques of the experimental Chinese art scene of the 1980s and ’90s. Just as his performance art explores China’s ever-changing socioeconomic landscape, so too, NFT art presents new mediums, meaning and energy for his interventional artwork, to further shape his creative process. 15/80
