Inspiration:

During the pandemic, I went through a process of self-regeneration. A four-year relationship was coming to an end. My residential lease ended. The business I worked for closed down. Everything surrounding me seemed to be ending at once.

I was in a confused state and slowly falling into a depression. I just observed what was happening. My natural reaction at that moment was to stand still and trust the process. I let it all fall apart, shed my current lifestyle, and flowed into whatever came next.

In the following months, I left the northeast for a completely different region. I moved to Florida, to a small city by the beach. There, I started the process of self-regeneration.

The decaying cold concrete walls alongside the greenery, symbolize the feelings I had while new growth was slowly coming back into my life.

I grew up in a culture where men don’t cry or show weakness, so for years I’ve trained myself to cry inside while keeping a straight face. I’ve grown to just be HUMAN and embrace whatever experience I'm going through. Feelings are genderless.

Because of this, I chose a goddess to represent the state I was in and to express my emotions.

Not giving into fear and letting things flow, was the best decision at the moment. The death and rebirth of chapters in life.
