Rembrandt's original etching "Sketches of the Heads" is created in a technique based on lines. The line is therefore the main subject of my work. Their dynamic movement throughout the loop puts us directly into the artistic creative process.

The moving golden ground establishes the temporal and geographical reference to the original. In the Netherlands, whose golden age is based on trade through seafaring and a related cultural flowering.

Symbolic for coming and going, the digitally altered original rotates in three-dimensional space. A reference to many generations that Rembrandt's etching has survived. This is underlined by the color green, which stands for aged copper as well as a sort of cyber color of the present.

The silhouette of the figure Olimpia forms a bridge across the centuries.

In the late 18th century, the age of enlightenment, the boundaries of magic and modern technology are still blurred. Looking closely at the head of the figure, one sees how incrustations break open and thoughts begin to fly free. Thus she is also a symbol for the liberation of humanity and the Ukraine in particular.

The little SmackMan flying through is the legendary icon, for which I am known in the NFT art space. It creates a signature and a connection to this revolutionary new medium.

In the course of the animation the analog lines are overlaid by a binary code. With the underlying text "Its all in the lines" it symbolizes the technique of the digital interpretation of Rembrandt's original.

This work, inspired by one of the museum’s classical pieces, was created on the occasion of "Alternative Dimensions", the first NFT Collection with the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, curated by Eleonora Brizi for V-Art. Proceeds from the sale will be used to support the functioning of Ukrainian museums, to aid preservation at the National Museum in Lviv, to rebuild the Chernihiv Regional Art Museum, and the Kharkiv Art Museum, which suffered great damage during the hostilities.
