Southern California’s Death Valley reported the highest September temperature ever measured on earth: 52º degrees celsius (172º degrees Fahrenheit), according to the National Parks Service. As temperatures rise in what is already the hottest place on Earth, Death Valley is an example of what the near future could hold for the planet considering that the summer of 2100 could last for nearly half the year. Climate researcher Kristina Dahl with the Union of Concerned Scientists suggests summer is now “danger season” as we approach the end of summer as we know it. Original: 8.5” x 11” inch.
