Sometimes it’s really hard for me to express my emotion through words - I somehow often forget that no one can see what’s inside my brain. What I’ve been doing to combat this is expressing myself through art. Im able communicate my feelings and thoughts through color and detail. A majority of the time I feel very alone, hence, the very dark and gray tones. I never let my sadness show - at least I try not to. Instead I choose to focus on things that make life what it is. It can be wearing my favorite shirt, a song that brightens my day, or a gift from a friend that I hold dearly. This is what I highlight in all the different and contrasting colors I use in my art.
Now although I have my own personal story and I expressed how I choose to share that, I’m a huge fan of allowing the viewer to take themselves on their own journey. Below is a subtle description of “In Their Element”. I will end it with a question to allow you to allow your imagination to fly high. Enjoy your trip.
“In Their Element” represents a journey both mentally and physically. In case the question arose, the character illustrated is Non-Binary. The whole world is constantly shifting - trends being offset every single day - and yet here, we have someone who feels like they’re just coexisting. So how do they express that?
