The transition from night to day is reflected in the sand using several photographs of the dunes at different times of the day, from blue hour in the bottom, up to golden hour in the upper layers and sky.
Similarly, the half-moon shows us both its daytime and a nighttime side. Thus, the same transition is portrayed simultaneously on the moon and the earth.
It all happens in deserts, representing testing times.
