This is the second in a short series of works riffing on the idea of "skyships" floating above fantastical landscapes. This concept has been a part of my oeuvre since 1965 when I used spray paint to create the image of a three-masted galleon floating in the clouds for the senior prom murals. The concept was probably decided upon by the Senior Council, but it came on the heels of my reading the entire series of books by Edgar Rice Burroughs about John Carter, Warlord of Mars, in which such modes of transportation sometimes played a role.

For this series, I am using machine learning algorithms to interpret some of my TradArt paintings into fantastical dreamscapes and bits and pieces of an entirely different ML system to create the ships. Each component provided me with the seed of an idea that I then enhanced and refined with standard digital painting tools. When used this way, generative art is becoming an important tool in my ever-expanding kit of tricks.
