I created "Glimpse" during the 2021 Festival Iminente. It was the first time in almost two years that we could reopen. We welcomed 100+ talented artists, and involved more than 400 people in the organization and along with thousands of people who joined us for this special occasion. It was a beautiful moment of community, togetherness and freedom and I want to thank everyone who made this unforgettable festival happen.
In celebration, I have created this in-situ work: mixing past, present and future. The installation of the artwork was created on the exposed floor of a collapsing building. It is a metaphor of what we have lived for the past year and a half, trapped in our homes, globalized cities and countries. Where our present eyes were looking through the window, trying to grab some hope of a different future, our escape was to fly with our dreams and use our imaginations.
It pays tribute to everyone who, despite the circumstances, managed to create new forms of art, expression and interaction – these acts of resistance that kept us close to each other.
