In Ode to the telnet terminals that I first discovered as a kid. Browsing the internet by text on those 2-bit terminals at late nights in the library, those bright orange screens, those MUDs (Multi-User-Dimensions), those MUSHs (Multi-User-Shared-Hallucination), those hidden chatrooms of long ago where I first discovered the internet.
The 8-bit Dog was created by artist Jake Johns' as a social media mouth-piece upon discovery of art on the blockchain. The 🐕s' social media work helped coined the term "Crypto-Art" within the community, uplifted and supported hundreds to thousands of artists, creators, community leaders and collectors. Now, thanks to this community, the Art-work and message in activism has reached millions of people within the first two years, including famous celebrity circles including Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, and the Twinklevoss twins. The 🐕 has helped support John Hopkins University front-line workers in the middle of a pandemic, sought to fight communistic authoritarianism and human right violations across the world and even makes daily jokes!
Jake Johns' award winning art-work is currently collected across the 🌍 where Vitalik's Ethereum blockchain is accessible, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Italy, U.K., Spain, France, throughout the European Union, Japan, Australia, China and Russia in an attempt to bridge our human connections and fight for 🌎 peace ☮.
