I've always struggled with being one person or being one thing. I hated labels for these same reasons. I've always embraced the flexibility to be able to function in the best form, shape or colour that the moment requires. Unfortunately, I grew up in spaces where that seemed to be out of order. I grew up in monochrome defined structures where being one thing meant forfeiting the platitude to be another thing even though most of the times this one thing that you were required to be would have to be chosen for you regardless of how you felt or who/what you knew yourself to be. This self Portrait is a celebration of me finally embracing my plurality, it is me reveling in my free form knowing that I can be more than definitions that had been imposed on me by other people's yardsticks or societal constrictions. This is me embracing my many colors and trusting myself enough to love every form and person of me.
