Ramzan, a time when hijabs color the street when smiles and laughter paint mesmerizing chaos. I was out to get some good pictures, I was looking around, clicking pictures when I saw this girl sitting in a corner a little distant from the lights of the festival. I went straight to her and asked her “Can I take a picture of you?”, although her words showed a little reluctance, I could see her eyes lit up. After getting a few shots, she told me that all of her friends were getting pictures clicked but her “not so fair skin” kind of stood as a barrier and she confessed she was a little sad about that. I looked at my camera, I knew it did a wonderful job. I smiled at her and said, “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”.
We all know India is a country of tradition, culture and festivals. To portray a country like India we need faces that carry the huge responsibility of tradition and culture. In this series, 6 photographs of 4 different festivals portray a small part of the colors and festivals in India.
Success is the face value of Society,
Devotion is the face value of culture and tradition.
