Wild Wave Studies represents my ongoing exploration of chaotic forces through the application of generative code techniques. Stemming from earlier experiments into enhancing the style of my Artblocks collection Seasky, this project continues the trajectory of my creative journey. Each piece within this collection has undergone a process which begins with a generative code created image. The resulting output is then subjected to modifications induced by a spectrum of AI settings and prompts.

The appeal of this technique is that it enables me to capture moments of chaos that are difficult to capture through generative code alone. What intrigues me further is the poetic resonance found in the introduction of additional chaos through the incorporation of AI processes, which plays back to the conceptual foundation of collection.

I have remained faithful to the Turneresque theme that initially captivated me during the development of Seasky. I found this particularly appropriate for a study into wave imagery and it has allowed the collection to uphold a consistent aesthetic. However, the addition of diverse external influences proved instrumental in adding richness to the pieces. I ran experiments on numerous historical artistic styles and ultimately gravitated towards elements inspired by Picasso, Jackson Pollock, and Salvador Dali. These now feature prominently in the collection.

For Wild Wave Studies I generated over 5000 candidate images. I have curated this down to my choice of 50, which I hope collectors and viewers will find interesting and emotive.
