Oh man, this is is in my top three mind blowing concerts ever. I was more than out of my element, never having shot a hip hop show before, but I adored these guys and they were always on heavy party rotation at my pad. To me they were revolutionary - we were just rocking out.

It was the usual shoot only the first three songs restriction - so as the third song ended I put my camera in the bag and waited to be escorted out. No one did, so I made myself small and got a seat of a lifetime right there in the pit for the entire show. I’m kicking myself for not having shot more, but also didn’t want to get on the bad side of the S1W’s! In retrospect it was such a full blown party nobody would have noticed.

I met Chuck D. after the show and was so star struck, lump throated and shaky I couldn’t even think about taking photos. It happens. I got several good photos on the two rolls I shot, but this one is inarguably the best -the bond so evident here between Chuck and Flav is priceless.
