Poem
To My Father
Life didn’t go the way you expected
You had no idea when you were young
That you would be wed to someone who stung
And prevent us from being connected
Maybe you had high hopes of joy and love
Of an ordinary, peaceful full life
Sure with fatherhood you’d happily thrive
Instead your days continued without love
How could you have known that she’d plan to take
Us away from you in body and mind
That in foreign lands you would your life make
While she not only you but all your kind
Maligned, that she’d crumble and crumple you
And that you’d never to us say adieu
To My Father
