Welcome to the 24 Series, photography tethered to the real world. Inspired by the concept of creating digital windows to beautiful corners of the world, this piece continually evolves based on the time of day, all without needing to refresh metadata. You'll see the scene slowly fade through daytime, sunset, nighttime, and sunrise, as it is synchronized with actual sunrise and sunset times from your geographical location. This also means the length of day and night change seasonally. “The Sentinel” however takes it a step further, as the night scenes themselves also evolve with the phases of the moon over the course of roughly 30 days. Yes, this piece has a lunar calendar built right in. At any given moment, what you see will be different than what someone else sees from across the planet.

Transport yourself to the world of the Great American Southwest, where the deserts are vast, and the canyon formations are unlike anything you’ve seen before. Zion Canyon happens to be one of those places, and to this day has a special place in my heart. Not only is it my favorite place to indulge in adventure, but it has become a place my mother and I have visited for years as an annual family photography road trip. The canyon walls are composed of unique towering rock structures, almost like giants watching over those who reside within. “The Sentinel” is one of those giants.
