DESCRIPTION:
Memoirs of Buddha: “Love is beauty and beauty is truth, and that is why in the beauty of a flower we can see the truth of the universe.”

Created from two of my photographs taken in Japan (the great Buddha of Kamakura and an image of the cherry blossom/sakura in action), this cryptoart piece combines various creative elements: photography, coding, animation, touch screen capabilities, interactivity and soundtrack. It took a lot of time to combine these many techniques, incorporate opensource code and study 3D pixel conversion in order to offer the viewer a sense of perpetual interaction with an artwork that is meditative, traditional and modern at the same time.

My aim remains that of storytelling and documenting, but being an artist, I'm also very interested in experimenting and evolving my photographic work through the use of new technologies and new ways of presenting it. "Memoirs of Buddha" is the second piece in my evolving concept of creating interactive cryptoart by using my original photos to tell a story.

IMPORTANT: Due to file size, the gif preview has been reduced to 1000x1000px. The mp4 video file in the final HTML artwork is the full 1600x1600px.
