Fractals have always played a big part in my work. Not only do they underlie the foundations of 3D art (most procedural textures are fractal in nature) but they are also beautiful all on their own.

My first fractals were the ubiquitous Julia and Mandelbrot Sets in the 90s and I moved on to "Flame" fractals in the 2000s. By the 2010s 3D fractal software was available allowing for the exploration and rendering of "Mandelbulbs".

This piece was created using Mandelbulb 3D in 2015 and is definitely my favorite of 3D fractal render.
