The Cape buffalo is also known as Black Death or Widow-Maker and is considered the most dangerous animal of the big five. They are grumpy, unpredictable, and unforgiving. They live in a herd and will try and rescue another member of the herd when they have been caught by predators. However, old bulls ousted from the herd, band together in tight bachelors groups known as Dagga Boys.
