In the past, people considered wells sacred places where any spoken wish would be granted by the guardians of the well for a certain price. After uttering the wish, one would toss a coin into the well. If the coin landed heads up - thee wish would be granted; tails up - the guardian would ignore the wish. We all believe in something, which helps us throughout our journey called life.
