For a moment, the world seemed to freeze, feeling free from a terrible beast, the sky lit up with a rich blue light through which bright divine stars shone. The skin of the beast fell under Naiad's feet and remained only a painful memory of the girl's fate. For the first time she felt joy, but now she was forever doomed to live alone, there was no place for her among the naiad sisters. She dressed herself in the skin of a jaguar - a memory of how cruel this world is, how those who revere can passionately wish for death, how those closest can doom to terrible suffering and that she is part of this world. Having received Pegay's forgiveness, Naiad went into the thicket and no one saw her again.
