You may wonder why I called this one 'Horsehead'. When I leave my studio at night I often look into the night sky, I also like looking at pictures of the cosmos on instagram, it gives me a sense of awe and of belonging to a vast, mysterious universe and for a while I become detached from the small stuff which we sometimes make such a big deal out of. Anyway this work reminded me of the horsehead nebula and I can actually see what looks like a horse's head in the painting. Can you see it? Or perhaps you see something else. The original was done with oils and brushes on recycled wood and measures 30x24cm.
