Sometimes everything is all right. Peace reigns, contentedness settles in and calmness abounds.
But sometimes...
Sometimes everything is not all right.
Sometimes everything is wrong and we suddenly find ourselves trapped in a prison from within.
Anxiety. Depression. Self-doubt. Overstimulation. Stress. Fear. The inability to focus.
All of these mental health conditions do not discriminate. They know no race, religion or culture. They do not only select the weak; they also love to feast on the strong.
When all is not well, we feel as if we're either going to explode or collapse within ourselves. It often feels as if the atom is being split within our own craniums. It's an explosion. Or is it a nuclear winter? We all experience these emotions, these mental prisons from which we sometimes cannot escape. This image is a kind of reflection on the battles we suddenly find waging within our own selves. This image is a reminder that you are not alone. You are not a failure if you just wake up one day and find that you simply...cannot. We would never call someone weak if they sought help for a heart problem or physical pain from an injury; one should never be thought of as weak for wanting to salve the emotional pain from an injury of mind. If you're seeing this and have experienced any of that doubt, stress, worry and just general blackness, just remember you are not alone. Never.
