This island De La Harpe always fascinated me. Only accessible by boat, there is an obelisk at its center dedicated to Frédéric César de la Harpe. I knew it would be a perfect subject for infrared photography, and I wanted to capture it for a long time. Using infrared, the sky and water give all the attention to the island.

I had many occasions to get a beautiful shot, but I wanted to create a memorable piece. Something unique that I haven’t seen before. One that introduces the infrared technique to the viewer in an interactive way.

So I took many shots using different wavelengths to let the view go through them. Using your mouse, you can go from visible light on the left, all the way to pure infrared on the right.

Using your mouse, or finger, you can go from visible light on the left, to pure infrared black and white on the right, taken at 850 nm. In the middle, you will see the island through the wavelengths of 550 nm, 590 nm, 665 nm, and 720 nm.
