There are very dark parts of my life and my story is one of survival and adversity, living in some very hardened and scary environments shaped me into the man I am today. Through the advice of a friend I have decided to explore and share my stories through art. This is the first piece in a series of abstract and metaphoric work that tell my stories.

My adolescence was a wild ride, things like homelessness, drug addiction, violence, criminal behaviour and all manor of anti-social choices should have landed me in prison or dead. I made every attempt to destroy myself in an effort to drown out some pretty serious mental pain. Thankfully I survived long enough to realise I wanted more and I wanted to live a good life. I managed to turn things around against all odds. I had help. The ocean was an integral force to healing my mind, my body and giving me back my soul. It is now central to my life and to my art.

Offshore represents a reminder that even though there is darkness in my life there is also light. I choose to find the light, to share it and to embrace it. I have found light in my life now and so I am a bit more comfortable exploring the darkness, something I was too afraid to share with the world until I found this incredible web 3 community. My friends here have managed to draw parts of my story out of me just through being friends. I am now ready to use my artwork and through fine art photography and other mediums, share my stories and express the feelings and emotions around my past life. This the first piece in a series of work that will eventually tell my life story and the depths to which I sank before rising again.
