The cubist painter starts from a sensible reality, breaks it down and recomposes it, completely distorting a possible everyday scenario, and reconstructs an imaginary thing relating to balances that, in his opinion, are on an even higher level than reality itself, from an aesthetic point of view. This work is an invention, like all Cubist things, and refers to an imaginary hangover, with a shabby arrangement of bottles and glasses, since after a hangover the left over things are quite out of place. There is a fan-like arrangement of glasses and bottles which makes one imagine the drinker’s mental balance. At a certain point he may fall under the table and this scene is represented by the bottles which are up and overturned. From a technical point of view, in this work there's a search for tension, which appears through strong lights and shadows, as well as colour contrasts. Links present in the sensory environment are broken and others that are in the artist's mind are reconstructed.
