The Ocean can be a cruel beast. It can gift you so much and in an instant it can take it all away.

It was 24 hours of driving through the wilderness to lay eyes on this, my favourite stretch of reef. It had been two long years since I had the opportunity to capture this particular wave and the welcome back was nothing short of incredible. Some of the best light I have had the privilege of capturing was on display.

The goal this year has been to fall back into the creative process and immerse myself into the ocean. To capture as many moments as possible, to capture the raw and untouched beauty. It has been incredibly rewarding.

I recently lost a dear friend to the ocean and it reminded me of how fragile life really is. The ocean is like a drug that once you are hooked it's hard to imagine life without being immersed. I'm so blessed to have had the experiences I have had, and I will continue this journey for as long as I can.

This one is for you Tye. I look forward to a time when we meet again.
