I spent 7 years in Afghanistan as an air traffic controller. This photo of an Ariana Afghan Airlines aircraft was taken from the window of the air traffic control facility. My time in Afghanistan changed my life forever. Afghanistan is the most beautiful country I’ve ever been to and while I didn’t have many opportunities to take many pictures, I want to share some of what I was able to see while I was there. These are views that most people never had the opportunity to see before but deserve to be seen.
