Inspired by Jon Bellion’s 'Hand of God', a mashup outro of his ‘The Human Condition’ album.
Like the song, this interpretation is a collage of different elements.
We find our subject stranded in an environment that no might nor power can overcome, the outcome of which can truly be said to be in the “Hand of God”.
In the top right corner is a scene from the classic 80’s film ‘Scarface’, a reference to the supposed unrestricted boundaries of one’s abilities and achievements, none of which seem to be useful in such dire conditions.
The sincerity of their helplessness is seen in their tears. The overwhelming fear of uncertainty begins to take over, it consumes the heart and mind.
But the human spirit is not easily broken. Symbolized in the marigolds, is the strength and light it holds, that shines through dark times. With open palms the fire of hope ignites, which begets faith, which begets acceptance. A transformative change of heart ready for any and all outcomes, even the ultimate end (symbolised by the moths).
And so we see, that whenever we are lost to not despair and be overwhelmed by the unknown. Rather, gain straight by relinquishing presumed control, and have faith in the Best of Planners.
