I love New York's museums, particularly the MET. Once I discovered that the MET uploaded thousands and thousands of high-res, open-access images of ancient artwork I took it upon myself to explore "remixing" them. In this instance, I used images of Auguste Rodin's cast statue of Adam as reference. In my art classes, Rodin became a favorite of mine, as he was able to create physical expressions of intense emotion which appealed to me as a student of theatre. I wanted to re-contextualize the piece into a more graphic composition. I attempted to a new ambience with a "theater spotlight" to highlight parts of Adam's body in a more dramatic fashion. In a way, I wanted to take Adam's contorted body and transform it into a theatrical performance of sorts.
