The Lotus is a survivor. sprouting in the depths of mud, in order to reach the surface, the lotus must grow in darkness, survive multiple predators to reach the sunlight and the surface. Only after this journey does it bloom and is seen by the world which marvels at its splendour not realising the struggles it went through to reach the surface.
