I know it’s hard. The garbage of our world, I mean. We’re all one big wave away from drowning in it.
But we don’t have to drown.
We just have to learn how to swim. Read on to find out more...
What Is “Trash Art” and why am I looking at three trash cans titled “Ménage á TRASH”
One of the best aspects about this new trend in crypto art is that it’s almost impossible to explain. It has a very human feel to it, but if you saw it from a different angle, it would almost look like an alien object.
I’ve put together a few pictures below that do just that. There’s the “Untitled by Derek Hoffridge” that you’ve probably seen before, but this new edition is called “Put in a Mouth and Eat Me” AKA “Ménage á TRASH.
Some of these have excellent messages about our environment.Other pieces are a bit harder to describe.
Let’s go to the videos:
This is a trash version of a famous French painting called “The Dream” by Georges Braque. It is a cubist painting featuring a woman with her head against the bars of a jail cell. This version features 3 trash cans instead of a woman with her head pressed against a door, contemplating whether or not she should go through it.
It is an extremely powerful piece, but it’s also very different from all the other trash art pieces I’ve seen so far.
This is a painting called “Pesto” by Salvatore Cannavo. This one is the most extreme example of trash art I could think of, and that is saying a lot. It is a black canvas covered in shredded Parmesan cheese inside a trash can.
The only detail missing from this piece is a pigeon’s nest. Okay, the pigeon’s nest is not missing. It’s just hidden in there somewhere. But I digress. The biggest difference between this and all the trash art you’ve seen so far is that this piece, like many great pieces of art, actually teaches a lesson.
It tells us about how we relate to things, and the lesson it teaches is a very difficult one for people. It tells us that we’re going to lose things, and it’s going to be hard for us to adapt. But it also tells us how we can adapt.I think that’s a great message to get out there in a relatively short amount of time.
The Secrets to Perfect, Pleasing Artwork Okay, now let’s discover some of the best practices that will help us turn trash to let the garbage win.
