Jeanne - July 2022 - digital art (Clip Studio Paint, iPad Pro).Jeanne was created by octOpus for BlackPool as a piece for La Degen party in Paris (July 20th, 2022). This illustration is an homage to Toulouse Lautrec’s Moulin Rouge dancers paintings from the beginning of the 20th Century and Alfons Mucha’s work as part of the Art Nouveau movement. And more precisely the Art Nouveau Revival movement that took place in the 60s and 70s psychedelic sphere. Artists like Wes Wilson or Bonnie McLean used silkscreen printing to create rock poster art for events that took place at the Fillmore West and Auditorium in San Francisco. Quickly, the goal was not to promote those concerts anymore (as they were sold out every week), but to give the attendants a merch so they could say: “I was there!”. octOpus followed their example and created this commemorative poster for the July 2022 La Degen Party in Paris, so you can say “I was there”, too! Jeanne is a unique piece from a series of muses from all over the world.
