One of my personal favorite images of Pepper; this was captured in our backyard forest on one of the most magical morning walks of our lives. The fog hovered low and dense throughout the forest, and when the rising sun finally breached the nearby mountaintops, the light flooded the woodlands with magnificent rays. It felt as though we were walking through a fairytale film set - which actually worked out well, as we were accompanied that morning by a videographer who was filming Pepper as the star in one of the renowned singer/songwriter Passenger’s music videos! Needless to say, the timing and location was perfect for a morning well spent filming Pepper in his happy place. At one point in Pepper’s usual adventurous fashion, he clambered up a mossy tree stump to get a better vantage point among our surroundings. I quickly walked around to the other side of him to snap this image, the rays creating one of the most epic backdrops for a Pepper portrait I’ve ever seen. Image taken in March, 2017
10 years ago I unexpectedly came home from the local dog shelter with a 5 month old scruffy mutt, born and raised within the shelter walls and completely unexposed to the great outdoors. Pepper, shy and timid yet curious to see the world, instantly attached himself to my side and became my most loyal companion and adventure partner from day 1. Fast forward 10 years, to this day you can still find us regularly scrambling up mountain peaks, squishing ourselves into a kayak together, romping through the woodlands, backpacking for days into the wilderness, sharing a muddy tent or sleeping bag, and road-tripping across countries all while capturing these moments of joy from our adventures to share with the world. Pepper’s characteristic Majestic Mutt images have accumulated a large following across the globe over the years, and we hope that these images can continue to inspire others to also pursue the beauty and joy of friendship and adventure with their own loyal, furry companions. We will be donating 50% of all proceeds from this series back into reputable dog rescues (25% to our local rescue and 25% to animal rescues in Ukraine at this time). This way we hope to help the next majestic mutts out there embark on their own new journeys.
