ライゾマティクスは東京を拠点としたアーティスト、エンジニア、デザイナーから成り立つコレクティブで2006年よりメディアアートの実戦と研究開発を行っています。 設立以来、常に人とテクノロジーの関係を探求しています。多様な視覚化や問題提起型のプロジェクトを通して、技術と表現の新しい可能性を追求してきました。 設立から現在まで創造的な実践を通じて、またコンテンツのみではなくシステムや仕組みを作ることによって、様々な事象を掘り下げて来ました。 今回、NFT, CryptoArtの大きなムーブメントの検証のために作品だけではなく、プラットフォーム”NFT Experiment”を制作し検証を行います。 このシリーズでは私たちの活動の根幹にあるリゾームというコンセプトをインスピレーションに、ライゾマティクスのロゴを用いてビジュアルアーティストが作品を制作して行きます。

この作品は、ライゾマティクスが保有する１５年間分のソースコードから、関数名や変数名などの単語をベクトル化し3次元にマッピングしたデータを用いて生成された映像です。 根(リゾーム)が地中を自在にのび広がり、様々な領域に生成の拠点を形成するかの如く、非中央集権的に多様かつ多彩な表現を追求してきたライゾマティクスの活動の形跡をこの映像から読み取ることが出来ます。

Rhizomatiks is a Tokyo-based collective consisting of artists, engineers, and designers, who has been creating media arts as well as conducting R&D from 2006. Rhizomatiks has constantly explored the relationship between humans and technology since its foundation. Through a diverse range of visualization-involved or speculative projects, the collective pursues new possibilities of technologies and expression. Since its foundation, Rhizomatiks has been digging into many phenomena through creative practices and through creation of not only content but also systems and mechanisms. As facing this NFT and CryptoArt movement, Rhizomatiks decides to create contents to present together with the platform itself for examination, called ”NFT Experiment”. In this series, the visual artists from Rhizomatiks will create works using the Rhizomatiks' logo based on the inspiration from the concept of Rhizome, which is the core of our activities.

This work is generated from the data of function names and variable names of 15 years of source codes that Rhizomatiks owns being vectorized and mapped onto 3D space. The work represents traces of the activities of Rhizomatiks, which has pursued diverse and varied forms of expression in a decentralized manner, as if its roots (rhizome) were spreading freely through the earth and forming bases of creation in various areas.
