This is what happens in our head. We are capable of controlling it.
State of mind includes such simple things like focusing on that stuff you want your life to be consisted of - filter the information you listen and watch just as you filter your food when you want your body to be healthy.
Also watching your thoughts, growing a habit to think about those things that serve you in one or another way instead of destructing stuff such as gossips and troubles for instance.
It doesn’t mean what the problems are to be ignored, but it matters with what state of mind they are to be solve - stressfully and destructively or consciously and reasonably with clear mind.
It is harder than Gratitude since it can be influenced by the outside world and other peoples’ opinions more. But it is real to be trained and made serving us.
