Blue Skies Ahead 1/1 NFT by Jeff Charron
Have you ever been totally unaware you were living under a cloud, until you saw the sun? Vermont is one of the least sunny places in the United States. During winter, it’s normal to go weeks without seeing a clear sky. Combine that with the freezing temps and short days and people wonder how anyone could live here. My answer to them: You get used to it. It’s amazing what we can get used to, and that doesn’t just apply to the weather.
I can share from experience that when I’m in the thick of things, it’s hard to imagine another way of living. But once those clouds break, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. I took this photo on the first sunny day after one of those dark spells. As I looked over this farm, with its magnificent view of Mt Mansfield, Vermont’s tallest mountain, I could feel light and warmth filling my body again. What a relief it was to see blue skies again and know that more are on the way.
