The Lake 1/1 NFT by Jeff Charron
One of the features that drew me to Vermont, and keeps me grounded here, is Lake Champlain. This body of water, which measures 107 miles (172 km) long and 14 miles (23 km) at its widest point, separates Vermont from upstate New York and reaches north into Quebec, Canada. Standing along its western shore, I have seen the most breathtaking, surreal sunsets. Each time, they seem to cast a spell on me, capturing my undivided attention.
I’d like to say that spending years on this lake has given me the ability to predict these spectacles, but that would be a lie. Instead, I’ve found persistence to be the key to this hunt and every hit makes all the misses worth it. This shot, captured on Mother’s Day 2022, looks southwest through St. Albans Bay. An imposing cloud, the still water, and the Adirondack Mountains in the distance all brilliantly reflected the light of the setting sun to create the scene you see before you.
