The 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.8, killed 53,537 people in Turkey and between 5,951 and 8,476 
in Syria. It is the deadliest earthquake in Turkey since the 526 Antioch earthquake and one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded in the Levant.
