The head crusher was a medieval instrument that leaves little to the imagination. The condemned person would rest their chin on the base, with their head enclosed in the helmet. Used to extract confessions, the executioners would turn the screw, causing the initial breaking of teeth and jaw. If the torturer continued tightening, the screw could eventually crush the victim's skull, forcing their brain out through the eye socket.
