As winter approaches, in a misty English woodland, delicate pale leaves on a slender twin trunked beech tree hang on the tips of thin branches. Tiny droplets of water, formed by the damp air, are suspended on the branches and leaf tips, whilst curving twigs fallen from overhead larch trees are caught in the grip of the majestic tree.
The dried copper autumn leaves can often remain on beech branches throughout winter, adding a splash of colour, until the fresh, vivid green spring leaves hasten their fall.
I love the calm atmosphere of a misty woodland. The stillness can be touched, sounds become softened and the serenity is amplified lifting your soul ever upward.
