The name Dol Hareubang comes from the Korean word Dol meaning stone, and the Jeju dialect word Hareubang, meaning grandfather. It is often considered to be a guardian protecting people of Jeju Island. HARUBANG, the artist, inspired by Dol Hareubang, created a PFP collection of HARUBANGs. Throughout his artworks, he's been building a community full of laugh, friendship, and love as well as spreading the beauty of Jeju Island of South Korea.
Some Harubangs are naive and some are harsh. Notably, one bullies others swinging a ladle. Whack!
