We visited Norway on our honeymoon, a full year after the wedding. We rented a car and just drove, stopping at all the most famous spots... Kjerag, Preikestolen, Trolltunga... But the places that amazed us the most were the quiet ones, the lonely stops by the wayside (or in this case, at the end of a dock on a secluded lake). These moments are propagated forward in our memories, like discrete waves in still waters.

This image has been widely shared (often without credit) on social media, making it to the front page of Reddit a few times, and into /r/thalassophobia precisely once. I've often heard that it reminds people of a show about Vikings, though I haven't seen it.
