Joshua Tree National Park, California

I don’t know if Dr. Suess was inspired by Joshua Trees but when I see them I often hear the voice of The Lorax in my head —

“I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues”

— and I think about how this place became a National Park and hear The Lorax again —

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
