Sailing in Disko Bay was a dream come true, what an experience that was! After years of planning & cancellations, in September 2022 it was finally my time!

The icebergs in the Ilulissat Ice fjord are incredibly massive and majestic to see, often reaching several hundred feet in height. They originate from the Sermeq Kujalleq Glacier, one of the most active glaciers in the world, and are a result of ice calving. Ice calving is the process by which large chunks of ice break off from the glacier's edge and float into the fjord and eventually out into the sea. Getting up close and sailing around them was a thrilling experience.

There was only one way I could document this to show the beauty of the ice fjord, by drone! If you are not afraid of wind, landing on a moving vessel, GPS issues, then you are good to go! The sun came through the clouds just a bit to give some colors to the sky and sea which resonate so well with the red sails. Both sailboats can be seen sailing together in harmony around the ice bergs, hence the name of this artwork; In Harmony.
