Photographically speaking, Kawah Ijen is one of a kind. Few places in the world present so many unique photographic opportunities. Whether it is the bizarre blue flame burning on the banks of the lake, the unique landscape of the crater itself or the dancing trees around one side of the crater rim are excellent foreground objects and generally there’s a ton of compositions to work with at this otherworldly location.
